December Chamber Concert by Musical Masterworks
4 Lyme Street (First Congregational Church of Old Lyme)
Artistic Director Tessa Lark will join a trio of longtime Masterworks favorites for a program of classical works so masterful they’ll never stop making the rounds. It doesn’t get better than pianist Gilles Vonsattel and violinist/violist Arnaud Sussman…except for when you add to the mix Edward Arron, cellist and previous Artistic Director of Musical Masterworks, whom Charles Wadsworth brilliantly brought into the MM family fold years ago. Tessa Lark remarked to The Day “…there isn’t a direct holiday theme, but the music IS seasonal to me. I love Beethoven; Eflat is such a hopeful and serene key, and this piece is very pastoral and soothingly repetitive.” Tessa continues “I consider Beethoven to be in a way one of our first minimalist composers and it put you in a very dreamy haze you never want to stop.” Tickets are $45 (Students: $5) and can be purchased online.
8pm

He is currently the drummer for McCoy Tyner and a member of the Pharaoh Sanders Quartet, Harold Mabern Trio, and is a founding member of the renowned One for All Quintet.
